HOLY SPIRIT MEETINGS AND ACTIVITIES The Youth Mass will be this Sunday, April 16 at 12:45 PM. PLEASE NOTE: Changes in Schedule due to HOLY WEEK Monday: 9:00 AM Morning Prayer Tuesday: NO Mass, NO RCIA Wednesday: 9:00 AM Mass, No CCD Thursday: No Morning Service Holy Thursday – Mass at 7:00 PM -- Adoration Until 10 PM Good Friday –“Three Hours of Prayer” 12 – 3 PM ** Good Friday – Service at 7:00 PM Easter Vigil – Mass at 8:00 PM Easter – Mass at 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM Easter Egg Hunt – Follows the 10:30 AM Mass **On Good Friday, March 21 in addition to the evening service we will have “Three Hours of Prayer” beginning at Noon with the Rosary. Then personal prayer time until 2:30 PM when we conclude with Fr. Mike leading the Stations of the Cross. On Good Friday, our parish will take up the annual Good Friday Collection for the Holy Land. Send your personal intentions on pilgrimage! Father Al Humbrecht is offering each person the opportunity to send personal intentions with the diocesan Pilgrimage in the Footsteps of St. Paul, March 31 – April 12. Your intentions will be presented with the gifts at each Mass the group celebrates. Personal Intention slips are in the Narthex on table in front of the water fountain, with a box to put them. The Diocese requests that you put all your intentions on one form, to reduce the weight of the paper they must carry around. Intentions will be mailed March 24. February’s Knight of the Month is Bruce Speer. The family of the month is Ed & Lucy Szelengiewicz. Attention All Food Prep People!!! Everyone who works with snacks after Masses, prepares food, sets up or cleans up after any event, is requested to attend a special meeting on Sunday March 30 at 1 PM in the Social Hall. The Alpha/Omega group is planning a camp out at Camp Columbus on Friday, April 4. For information, call Chris at 847-0671 by March 27. Also the group is collecting some items for the patients at the Soddy-Daisy Healthcare Center. Items needed: body & hand lotion, nail polish, tissues, chap stick, lipstick, and makeup. There will be a labeled box in the narthex for the items. The Rosary Makers Guild has several rosaries that would be great Confirmation gifts. The beads are red and the center crucifixes have the dove representing the Holy Spirit. If you would like to purchase a rosary, call Barbara at 580-3316. On Thursday, April 17, 2008 Holy Spirit Parish will sponsor a “Leaving Your Anger at the Foot of the Cross” anger management seminar for adults 21 and over. The evening will be facilitated by Judy Magnussen, MA, MS, of the Elbow Tree Christian Counseling Center. Participants will learn four anger styles, problem solving skills, and how to deal with conflict that leads to resolution and healing. The event will begin at 6:00 PM with a pizza dinner and end at 8:00 PM. Babysitting will be provided. Contact Holy Spirit Church Office for more information. (332-5300). Donations will be accepted. St. Vincent de Paul’s Yard Sale: May 29–31, 2008. Start cleaning your Closets now. Items may be placed in the barn. If you need information call Mary Cooper at 843-1841. Remember Food Collection is the 1st weekend of every month. Please bring staples and place them in the marked boxes in the narthex. The 5:30 PM Mass Choir has practice on Tues. at 7 PM. The 8 AM Mass Choir practices on Tues. at 5 PM New members are always welcome. Events Calendar – Anyone wishing to reserve the social hall, church or conference room should consult the calendar (displayed above the coffee table in the social hall) for open dates. If you wish to reserve a date, leave a post-it note on the calendar. LOOKING AHEAD: Vacation Bible School will be June 16 – 19. March your calendars. Church Cleaning Teams The beige books on the table across from the water fountain are for the people on cleaning teams. Schedules are listed in these books, please take one. Also, e-mail addresses are needed to help keep everyone more informed about upcoming events. If on a team (or want to be), please add your name to the lists. YOUTH NEWS Middle School Youth Group: We need to get busy organizing the annual Egg Hunt. We will have a movie afternoon and an “egg filling” on this Sun., March 16. Meet in the Parish Hall after the youth Mass until about 3:30 PM Summer Camps/Enrichment Programs: OLPH, NDHS and St. Jude Schools will be offering Summer Camps/Enrichment Programs for all ages this summer. Facilitator is Ruth Queen Smith, Ed.D. This is an opportunity to learn, pray, and grow together through the scriptures and writings of the saints. Please feel free to invite anyone. Georgia area. The Chattanooga Deanery Divorced and Separated Support Group will meet the 1st & 3rd Sundays of every month at OLPH Parish Office Library, 7-9PM starting April 6, 2008. The support group will provide support through sharing groups, speakers, social activities, and liturgical celebrations.
