Purpose: To give
glory to God and to spread devotion to His Blessed
Mother particularly through the Rosary.
Members of Holy Spirit Church and Channel of Peace
Fraternity of the Secular
Franciscan Order meet twice a month to make Rosaries to
be given to school children, missionaries, domestic and
foreign, and any one else that needs them to spread
devotion to the Blessed Mother.
We have given Rosaries to school children in October,
the month of the Rosary and May, the month of Mary. We
have sent Rosaries to Missionaries in Texas and New York
who are going back to their homelands in India, Africa
and South America. We have given Rosaries to priest in
our diocese who will be traveling to other countries. We
have sent Rosaries to the military serving in Iraq. We
have given Rosaries for special occasions to members of
our parish. We have sent Rosaries and Franciscan Crown
Rosaries to Secular Franciscans in China. We never sell
these Rosaries.
We do, however, make Rosaries to sell, with the
profit being used to finance the making of Rosaries that
are given away.
Who may join our group?
Any one with a desire to honor Mary by making
rosaries may join our group. We teach you how and supply
the materials. Just show up. You may also make Rosaries
at home and bring them to church when finished.
